Tracy: Pritzker/Stratton Energy Failures Are Driving Up Costs for Illinois Families

SPRINGFIELD, IL – This weekend, the Chicago Tribune editorial board criticized Gov. Pritzker and Illinois Democrats for their mishandling of the energy crisis: failing to plan for nuclear, battery storage, or grid resilience, while Illinois working families, manufacturers, and small businesses face skyrocketing bills. U.S. Senate Candidate Don Tracy responded to the editorial, saying:

“Lowering the cost-of-living for Illinois families starts with fixing our broken energy policy. The Chicago Tribune is right: Democrats like JB Pritzker and Juliana Stratton failed to plan for the future, leaving working families stuck with soaring utility bills and an unstable grid. Instead of shutting down plants and blocking new nuclear energy, we need to expand reliable, affordable power so every family – from Chicago to our rural towns – can afford to keep the lights on. Defending the American Dream means making Illinois affordable, and that’s exactly what I’ll fight for in the Senate.”

Don is available for video and phone interviews on this topic, with some availability for in-studio discussions.
