Don Tracy: While Illinois Burns, Stratton Focuses on Pot Politics

SPRINGFIELD — Lt. Governor Juliana Stratton is calling for federal cannabis legalization. In a recent forum, she urged the nation to replicate Illinois' cannabis policies.

"After seven years as Lieutenant Governor, Juliana Stratton's blueprint for America is to expand pot smoking and cannabis use," said U.S. Senate candidate Don Tracy. "Illinois families have bigger problems."

"Whether one supports cannabis legalization or not, reasonable people can acknowledge concerns about addiction, impaired driving, diminished work performance, and criminal activity related to increasing recreational use of cannabis.

“The bigger question however is why this is a top Stratton priority while Illinoisans struggle with too high property taxes, the cost of living, food and pharmacy deserts, urban gun violence, and urban public education decline.

"The issue is her focus on progressive social engineering and big government programs. That focus has been a defining feature of her extreme agenda, and now her plan is to export that agenda to Washington.

"The nation deserves serious Senators focused on lowering the cost of living, strengthening the economy, and helping working families get ahead, not promoting more recreational cannabis use. America doesn't need the Pritzker-Stratton Illinois Blueprint. It needs more common sense."

Don Tracy is available for phone, video, and in-studio interviews.
