Don Tracy: Teen Takeovers No Longer Just a Chicago Problem

SPRINGFIELD  According to reports, Naperville police arrested four adults and five juveniles and issued dozens of citations following a "teen takeover" in downtown Naperville this week. The mob gathering, which resulted in multiple disturbances, assaults, battery charges, and confrontations with law enforcement, is further evidence that the public safety failures of the Pritzker-Stratton administration are no longer confined to Chicago.

For years, residents have watched as Chicago struggled with increasingly disruptive street takeovers, flash mobs, and large-scale disturbances. Now those same problems are spreading into suburban communities that once felt insulated from the consequences of failed Chicago public safety policies.

"Families chose communities like Naperville because they are safe, predictable, and family-friendly," said U.S. Senate candidate Don Tracy. "The fact that Naperville now has to deal with the same type of criminal mob behavior that has plagued Chicago should be a wake-up call.

"Career politicians, like Juliana Stratton, have spent years weakening personal accountability, undermining law enforcement, and making excuses for criminal and destructive behavior. Disorder doesn't stay contained. It spreads. And this is the ‘Blueprint’ she wants to take to Washington?

"Illinois families are already living with the Blueprint results. The state needs leaders who take public safety seriously before problems spiral out of control. The last thing our country needs is more of the soft on crime policies that allowed this kind of disorder to spread from Chicago to the suburbs.

"Almost everyday I talk to Chicagoland voters who long for public officials with common sense, who will back and advocate for law enforcement and law-abiding families. That's what I'll do in the United States Senate."

Don Tracy is available for phone, video, and in-studio interviews on this issue.
