Don Tracy: Stratton’s “Illinois Blueprint” Now Includes Trillions in Reparations Spending
SPRINGFIELD — Juliana Stratton has made her campaign goal clear: she wants to export Illinois financial instability to our nation's capital.
“...And now I’m taking that blueprint to Washington, D.C.,” she said.
Let’s take a look at what that “blueprint” now includes.
New reporting shows Stratton publicly aligning herself with Illinois’ Reparations Commission, saying, “I stand with you in this work.”
The cost of this left wing spending scheme should concern every working family in Illinois. According to presentations made at the Illinois Reparations Commission, the minimum national cost of this proposed new government program would be $16 trillion.
“Juliana Stratton isn’t just talking about incremental policy changes. She’s endorsing an extreme, trillion-dollar spending agenda that would fundamentally reshape our economy, trigger Biden level inflation, and undermine the fiscal stability of our great country,” said Republican Candidate for US Senate Don Tracy.
Even at the state level, reparations numbers are staggering. One presenter estimated that implementing reparations in Illinois alone could cost as much as $400 billion, which is $400,000 million, nearly eight times the state’s annual budget.
“At a time when families are already struggling with higher taxes, higher energy bills, higher healthcare costs and higher grocery prices, Stratton is pushing policies that would make life even more unaffordable.”
The broader point, made by reparations proponents, is clear: reparations cannot be implemented without massive federal spending, increased taxation, and a dramatic expansion of centralized government power.
“That’s Stratton’s ‘Illinois Blueprint’ in action,” Tracy continued. “Higher costs, bigger government, and more pressure on the very people already struggling to get by.
“I’ve spent my career working with families and small businesses who have to live within a budget. Everyday Illinoisans don’t get to spend trillions they don’t have and then leave someone else with the bill. Washington doesn’t need Illinois-style tax, spend and over-promise policies that make life more expensive.
“Illinoisans need a Senator who will stand up for them, not one who promotes extreme agendas that would put their financial future at risk.”
